After just a couple hours of sleep, it was on to the next leg of my trip… London, baby! Traveling via the EuroStar, I crossed the English Channel and was on my way to jolly old England!

A few, quick stops on the London Underground and I arrived at Lancaster Gate Hotel, my home for the next few days.

Since I didn’t sleep well the previous night, I didn’t have too much on my evening’s agenda so I headed out on a stroll. As I made my way towards Notting Hill, I checked out some sights from the 1999 cinematic masterpiece of the same name “Notting Hill” for their #1 fan: nope not me, my dad. I ambled down Portobello Road and came upon the Travel Book Shop and the iconic blue door from the film. I had to maneuver through hoards of teenage girls in the shop just to purchase a magnet for my Dad displaying the memorable line from the film, “I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.” Swoon.

When I left the shop, I spied a crowd not too far away. I approached and to my surprise and delight, there was something being filmed. I wasn’t able to glean what they were filming, but there were a ton of crew members and people spraying down the pavement to get that rainy, London look on a beautiful, blue skied day.
I stopped for dinner and had my 1st official fish and ships (and mushy peas.) After a relaxing spa night in my room, I watched some Celebrity Gogglebox (my new favorite show) and got ready for bed. I had an exciting day ahead of me!
