I awoke early (5:30am) to head out in an attempt to beat the heat. First stop was Tower Bridge. I spied my favorite place: The Tower of London as soon as I departed the Underground. Hey boo, missed you! I wasn’t making a stop there this trip though so it was off find Tower Bridge. This was my first time walking across the bridge so that was pretty cool. This magnificent bridge did not disappoint. So cool to see it so close up. I strolled along the River Thames as I made my way to the less impressive London Bridge. Hopping on the tube, I made my way to Embankment so I could see Big Ben and the houses of Parliament one last time.

Final stop: Abbey Road! I crossed at the iconic zebra crossing, famous for being the site of the album cover for The Beatles record of the same name. I visited the legendary Abbey Road Studies (just the outside) and read the ever revolving mural of graffiti along the wall of the studio where people memorialize their visit. I took a quick walk to Sir Paul McCartney’s house. I had high hopes that he would invite me in for a spot of tea, but alas, he wasn’t home. Next time, Paul!

It was time to go back to the hotel to pack up and check out. As I gathered my belongings, I received a notification saying my train to Liverpool was canceled. Uh oh…
