As I prepared for my long term travel Euro trip, I had a number of people reach out asking me how I was going to pack for the trip. It blew their minds when I responded with “well, I’m just bringing a carry-on suitcase.” Insert mind blown emoji here.

I’m not gonna lie, it was tough. In hindsight I think I would do it a little differently, but here we are (literally in the airport waiting to board).

I’ll take you through a few of my favorite things plus a few things I haven’t tried yet.

First things first, my luggage is the AWAY Bigger Carry-On. I love this suitcase. 4 swivel wheels, ejectable usb charger, fits in most overhead compartments. (Full disclosure, I ended up checking this bag, and bringing a duffel bag as my carryon because, y’all it’s hard to pack for 100+ days).

I never pack without packing cubes. When I first heard about them a few years ago I rolled my eyes and kept scrolling. I received some as a gift a couple years ago and figured I’d give them a try. I’ve never looked back. I picked up these from Amazon for $25.

A big question I have been asked is about laundry. I picked up this clothesline and some travel detergent to wash things in the tub/sink. I’ve used the tide detergent before, but the Travelon Laundry Soap is new to me. It didn’t get the best reviews but I’m excited to give it a try. I can’t wait to try the clothesline! It’ll be great to have a place to dry my clothes when there are hotels that don’t have a built in line in the tub.

New product alert! Since I was trying to cut down on liquids (for carry-on purposes) and single-use plastics (for Mother Earth) a shampoo bar seemed like the best option. I can’t wait to see how well these work.

I mean, duh. Everyone should have a Tide pen. I’m hoping it will get out any stains I may acquire on my white sneakers so I don’t have to wash them.

End result. I ended up packing way more than I expected. It was tough to do! I’m looking forward to dumping some of this stuff as the trip goes on. Maybe I can get it down to just the one bag by the time I’m on my way home!
