After 100+ days, it was finally time! What started out as a dream and a stretch has now become a reality. As I sat in the airport, waiting at my gate (only 4 hours early!) I couldn’t help but think how far I had come already. When I would tell people about the trip and my plans, the response more often than not, was, “wow! You’re so brave!” I didn’t really think about it that way. Being brave… What does that even mean? I’m not rushing into a burning building. In fact, I’m basically running away from the fire.

I guess the more I looked at it, it is brave to walk away. To know when it’s time to go. To leave everything you know behind and start over somewhere else, far from home.

I don’t know what this trip will bring me, but I hope I can push myself to grow and overcome. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I can’t wait to meet the new me.
